For the spread I’m sharing today I went for more of a theme approach. I’ve been thinking a lot recently about things I want to change and I’ve been itching to try and simplify things, which is something that got overlooked most of the summer. So during this week we made a start on things.
I knew that I wanted to use the simplify card from Paislee Press in this spread. I was going to use the orange version that came with last months Studio Calico kit but I preferred the colouring of the original digital version. I had planned to go for black & white photos but I liked the look of a little colour still being in the photos so I used Radlab to play around with them until I got a look I liked.
On the left page is a photo of us clearing out some boxes from the loft and to it I added a chipboard piece that I cut in half. Next to that is the simplify card from Paislee Press. Underneath in the 4x6 pocket I used a card from the Black & White story kit as the colours complemented the rest of the spread. I used the digital version and removed some of the lines and text to give me more room to write. I added the text in photoshop and then stamped on the numbers after I’d printed the card.
On the righthand page I decided to go for a full page photo of me purging my shoes. I was following the KonMari method and got ALL my shoes out to see them all together. It was a bit of an eye opener to see them all in one place and I’m not sure if I expected there to be more or less! I’d been putting it off as I struggle to get shoes and they’re expensive as I take a larger size, so it’s not so easy to let them go. However I’ve halved my collection and what I’m left with are shoes I really like. And it feels good to have ticked this off my to do list. To embellish this page I added the ‘right now’ acrylic piece and underneath I added some digital elements that I had printed.
