Today I’m sharing a project life spread that focuses on our day trip to Cambridge. Again I used a hybrid approach with all the cards except one being digital. I also had my first go at using a silkscreen. I wasn’t sure about silkscreens when they started showing up in kits but I really love the look and that little bit of extra texture it gives to the card.
I used the silkscreen on one half of a 4x6 piece of kraft card and on the other half I added a photo. I also added a cork arrow that I stamped using Staz On ink. In the bottom pocket I used a digital journal card from the Spark Story Kit and added journaling in photoshop. The little bit of black and white pattern at the bottom is the back of the journal card I used last week. It was a happy accident but it worked with this spread so I left it showing.
On the second page I kept it simple with two photos and two filler cards. The Autumn card is from a past Studio Calico kit that I had been hoarding since last autumn. The other I made using a digital card from a recent Studio Calico add-on. I changed the parts of the pattern that were navy to a dark grey to match the rest of the spread. I then added the ‘Cheers to the freakin’ weekend’ stamp from Kellie Stamps, layered over a box that I filled with a transparent colour, which helped it stand out from the busy pattern.
