Today I’m sharing the first three days of my December Daily pages. After lots of deliberating about doing this project again this year I decided that I would keep it as part of my project life album and not have it as a separate album. I’ve had separate albums the last few years and while I like them I felt my project life pages for December got very disjointed so this year I merging the two.
I also took Ali Edwards Storytelling with December Daily class and that has helped me shift my focus for this project and get me inspired about this project again. Before I was getting a bit too hung up on everyday having to be a Christmas related story. But now I’m going to go more with the flow and record a story a day whether it’s Christmas related or not.
I’m also not setting any rules about having to complete a double page spread per day. Some days will naturally have more photos and words and those will be double page spreads. But I think a lot more days will be one page per day and for really quiet days I may use a 3x8 page protector or insert. I’m also not worrying about having to have a photo for everyday so some days will be text only.
Supplies & album prep
The supplies I’m using are the Ashley Goldberg and Jasmine Jones mini kits and the Jasmine Jones Stamp set from Ali Edwards, Christmas Stamp sets from Kellie Stamps and bits and pieces from my stash. I’ll share links for these at the bottom of my posts.
I’ve not done that much prep of my album. In past years I’ve done nothing in advance. This year I have added in all the numbered cards from Ashley’s kit and a few other bits and pieces. I’ve also gathered together my supplies from my stash and cut some of the 6x8 papers from the kits down to 4x6.
I’m still working on my title pages so I will share those another time and I’m jumping straight in with day 1. I filled the small 2x2 squares with a mix of patterned paper, wrapping paper, acetate, digital stamps and a star. On the star I added one of the kraft word strips from the Cheer Story Kit. To the photo I added one of the new stamps from Kellie Stamps ‘Magic’ stamp set and some journaling.
For day 2 I used another of the stamps from the ‘Magic’ set for journaling card. I’d planned to use a photo across three squares but to crop it to fit meant I would loose too much of the detail so I cropped it to fit two squares instead. In the third square I added some kraft paper and stamped it with the ‘cheers’ stamp. In the top 3 squares I used some more kraft and used the roller stamp from Ashley’s kit. The next square is the reverse of the star, which was plain white so I used a patterned stamp on it. The final square is the gold acetate and I left that as it was.
For day 3 I used a digital stamp from the ‘Grinch’ set from Kellie Stamps and added a chipboard star once it was printed. On the second photo I added a chipboard from the Cheer story kit and the journal card is from the Jasmine Jones set.
Supplies: Ashley Goldberg and Jasmine Jones mini kits, and Jasmine Jones Stamp set from Ali Edwards, ‘Magic’ and ‘Grinch’ digital stamp sets from Kellie Stamps, Cheers Story Kit and Stamp from Ali Edwards.
