I promise I will start sharing spreads from this year soon! This spread is from our visit to Winterville in December. London now has a few Winter Festivals and Markets and Winterville was new (last) year and held in Victoria Park in the East of London. It’s less commercial and quirkier than the others which is more our scene. There weren’t any stalls selling local crafts the night we visited which was a shame but the street food and craft beer offerings more than made up for that.
Street food is big in London at the moment and we’ve tried out a few different venues. Our strategy is to share portions so that we can try more! At Winterville our favourite by far was a Pork and Black Pudding dumpling from Dorshi. It was so good I dedicated the whole left side of the spread to it! I used Dorshi’s business card on a PL card from Studio Calico. I kept the embellishments simple with two chipboard stars layered, stamped directly on the photo of the dumpling and stamped a label on the photo of the stall using the two foodie stamps form Kellie Stamp’s Epic set. I also used two green tiny-attacher staples to add a little more interest to the label.
We also had our first bacon-in-a-dessert experience. I know the combination is popular in the US but here in the UK it’s still quite a novelty. I used the ‘Let’s do this’ card to document us deciding to give it go. And the verdict? It was nice but I think I prefer my bacon and my sweet treats served separately!
