I’m finally sharing spreads from 2015 as promised! The spread is of a day we spent in London with our friends who emigrated to Australia but were back in the UK over Christmas & New Year. We spent most of the day in Greenwich visiting the market to pick up lunch, then an exhibition at the National Maritime Museum and a visit to Royal Observatory to take the obligatory ‘I’m-standing-on-the Greenwich-Meridian’ photo.
I kept this spread pretty simple. The two attempts at the group shot made me laugh. The first was unsuccessful but I think it captures everyone’s personalities so I decided to use it anyway. The second is better but Nick still ended up looking somewhere other than at the camera! All I added was a label which I stamped using an alphabet roller stamp. I managed to make a mistake so had to cut the label, loose the bit I mis-stamped piece and stick it back together. It’s not prefect but I think I managed to save it!
On the left hand page the four journaling cards give an overview of the day. Three are simply Studio Calico PL cards with photos added and a business card from the restaurant we ate at. The other card I created from a grid PL card and added some patterned paper from my stash to the top. The journaling I typed on blank piece of paper and then cut into strips which I then glued down. I used the new style alpha stickers that I received with Studio Calico’s Cirque Project Like kit. I wasn’t sure about this alpha at first but it’s grown on me and I really like how bold and simple it is. I hope Studio Calico offer this style again in future kits. If not I think the same style alpha is available, and in more colour options, on Ali Edwards website. Have you used this new alpha and what do you think of it?
