This spread covers one Saturday out and about in London. I started the day early so that I could visit Shoreditch before heading off to meet friends later. My first stop was Type East in Shoreditch to look into a typewriter. I’d been on the fence about buying a typewriter for ages but decided to get one as I love the look of typing on PL cards. The shop was great but the typewriters weren’t what I was looking for but the owner still gave me advice even though I wasn’t buying from him, which I thought was very kind of him.
The shop had a great sign in their window made out of old typewriter keys. I took a photo and included it on the left had side of my spread, adding a label stamped with ‘Favourites from Today’ from the Kellie's Stamps Epic Set. Next to that I included a business card from Craft Coffee where I had one of the best flat whites that I’d ever had. I journaled about my day on the ‘Write Here’ PL card from Studio Calico Far Far Away Project Life Kit. The final pocket on the left had side is a photo of my favourite street art of the day which was this giant hedgehog.
The right hand side documents my afternoon. I’d read about a shop called Material on Kelly Purkey’s blog last year and I’d meant to check it out for ages. It had some great things for sale but I restrained myself and only bought a notebook and a fold out guide to Berlin for our tip this autumn. I also picked up two cool freebies. One was a local guide to Shoreditch which had a great illustration on the front. Beards are a major trend in London at the moment so I decided to include it in my PL. As we’re talking big bushy beards here I decided to stamp Epic on the picture and then added beards using Vellum Alphas from Studio Calico! The other freebie was a brass book dart. It’s meant to be used for marking your page in books but I used it instead as a paperclip on the photo of Material’s shop window.
In the other pockets I used the receipt from Material as I liked the design and a Kraft Daily Envelope that I picked up from Studio Calico last year. I created a pull out tag for the envelope that documented our visit to Holland Park. On one side of the tag is a photo of the peacocks in the park and added some journalling on the back.
