I’m trying something new (well at least for me) and sharing some links to things that have caught my interest this week:
I keep seeing gorgeous succulents around the internet and on Instagram and felt that we were lacking in the plant department in our flat. Last Sunday we visited Columbia Road Flower Market and while everyone else was buying flowers we came home with some succulents. My favourite is shown in the photo above. I did some research before hand and found this article by the Gardenista helpful.
The PL spread I shared on Monday included the street art hedgehog that I’d photographed when I was in Shoreditch in January. We visited Shoreditch as well on Sunday and passed it again and it got me thinking that I should look up who the artist is. After some googling I found out he's called Roa and this article on Spitalfields Life is a bit old but lists where more of his work is located in London. I can see this being a future field trip.
Mini Book Workshop 2015 | Tina Aszmus
Life has been throwing technological glitches at us recently so I’ve not done as much creating as I’d of liked. However I’ve managed a few pages in my mini details album and I highly recommend this class. I love the ideas Tina shares and her work is so inspiring. Without wanting to sound too gushing I think it might be the best class I’ve taken at Studio Calico to date! I also got the class kit which is currently still in stock. The class is only $10 and registration ends on 31st March 11.59pm EST.
Simplifying and the time it frees up
I think this article by Kali on her blog The Nife en l’Air is an interesting read for anyone creative. Kali has simplified her life over a few years and talks about the reward of having more free time as a result. That has lead on to her reconnecting to the passions that she had as a child. I know that as I’ve worked towards simplifying things in my life what’s important to me has become clearer. When I was a child I was always painting or making something and I’m glad that I’ve reconnected with that over the last few years.
Hope you have a great weekend!
