This spread is a mix of different things that happened over about a week and half. On the left I documented seeing my friend and her twins. The photo of me holding them is very grainy but I liked it too much not to use it. I used a Studio Calico PL card to journal the details of my visit.
Beneath that is a photo of some snowdrops we saw while out on a walk in the countryside later that weekend. The tag is from a shop I visited called Present & Correct the following week. The tag is from their brown paper carry bags, which are just plain, but have the tag stapled on which I thought was a clever idea. I liked the look of the back of the kraft envelope showing through from the previous spread. So I left it visible and just added some typing to the tag and called it done.
The right hand side documents new supplies and the start of this blog. My new supplies were a typewriter I’d bought on eBay and the Epic Set from Kellie’s Stamps. I wanted to use some green on this side of the spread so stamped a small scrap of paper, embossed it with clear embossing powder then painted over with green drawing ink. On top of that I added a green label I had from a past Studio Calico kit and added small photos either side of the typewriter and stamps.
To record the start of the blog I took a screenshot on my iPhone of the website, printed it off and added a label. I also printed a screenshot of the e-mail account I set up for the blog. I cut up a Studio Calico PL card so that it just said ‘Be You’. On the ‘Yes to’ PL Card I typed about the good things that week. I added my own ‘No to’ line to make a joke of me making (yet) another typo when using my typewriter. I love my typewriter but I miss spellcheck!!
