Today’s spread covers the second weekend in March. We started the weekend off with a visit to Hawker House Street Feast. Last year Hawker House was a collection of street food vendors set up in an old disused warehouse. This year they’d moved to an old disused office block. There were food stalls and bars split over three levels (for some reason you’re not meant to call them floors). We got there unfashionably early but we like to get a seat so we picked our spot on the top ‘level’ an stayed there for a few hours. It was nice but we didn’t enjoy it as much as we had last year.
There was a cool mirror with lights around it, no doubt specifically placed there for selfie shots. I’m not a great fan of selfies but this could have been a good shot if only I had remembered to smile! So the ‘selfie fail’ card from Studio Calico's Odyssey Project Life kit worked perfectly for this picture. I decided to go for a copper theme as it tied in with the filters I’d used on my photos in Radlab. I used the ‘Big Bite’ stamp from the Clearly Kelly Food Coma stamp set with Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink and some copper vellum from Studio Calcio to create my own PL card and added typing. I used the ‘Let the good times roll’ card as a filler and a 'from where I stand' photo of the up and down stencilling on the stairs, which I stamped onto using copper ink.
On the right hand side I used a photo of Andy enjoying the duck pastrami burger we had which was the best thing we ate that night. I added some copper tape I bought a while back form Present & Correct, some more copper velum and another stamp from Kelly's Food Coma Stamp set. Above that I used the ‘3’ card form the Odyssey Studio Calico Project Life kit. The photo on the right was taken on a walk the next day. It was the first really sunny day for a while and it really felt spring was on it’s way. I used a copper die cut banner I had in my stash and stamped it with the ‘Here & Now’ roller stamp also from the Odyssey kit.
