This spread documents our trip to the Columbia Road Flower Market back in March. Its a great place to buy flowers and plants but it gets insanely busy. I had to forgo getting any flowers this time as we were out for the rest of the day and I thought flowers might wilt by the time we got home, so instead I got some potted succulents.
Once the crowds got too much we headed for Shoreditch and visited the container shopping village and I took the shot of us standing on the chevron design on the pavement outside. To record the date I used part of a larger stamp and inked up just the bit I wanted using white ink, then added the date with a roller stamp using grey ink. Next to that is a card made up of a flyer and tags I picked up on the day from various shops which I layered together.
Shoreditch is great for street art and I took this shot of Andy standing next to a big A and added more white stamping with a stamp from Kellie Stamps 'Epic' set. Next to that is a picture of tulips that I managed to snap before being swept along by the crowds at the market. I added the photo to a PL card I made from paper in my stash and added a sticker from a past Studio Calico kit.
On the righthand page I used a simple PL card with some typing to journal about our day. Next to that is more street art that we saw later in the day and I again added white stamping direct to the photo. Then the final pocket is as paper bag from a great bookshop we found. I hadn’t realised the clever design of the typography until I got home, so I decide to cut it up to include in my album. It needed something else so I used a stamp from the Clearly Kelly ‘Take Note’ set. The whole stamp wouldn’t fit the space so I only inked the part of the stamp that I wanted to use.
