This spread turned out so differently from my initial plans for it! I had a few photos that didn’t match that well and I just couldn’t get it to hang together. I decided to ditch the photo causing the issues and then things seemed to flow together.
Andy & I were both really busy with work so it was pretty quiet on the picture front. So I shifted the focus onto little details of what had happened in the two weeks that the spread roughly covers.
On the left hand page I used one of the watercolour PL cards I made recently and used one of my favourite stamps from Studio Calico designed by Life.Love.Paper and added some bullet points to journal what had been going on. Next to that I added a photo of the Studio Calico Mini Details Album that I was working on and added a sticker from the Studio Calico Lisse Street Project Life kit. Underneath that I used the ‘i am a maker’ card from the Maker Card Set add-on from Studio Calico.
On the right hand page I went with the theme of my Easter weekend which seemed to be about stopping and relaxing. I was tagged to do my first #widn post on Instagram on Good Friday. I’d had a rough week at work and was barely awake so needed a gentle start to the day so took a shot of me making (my much needed) coffee and catching up on some blog reading. That lead onto me deciding to use the ‘go into the world and do good’ PL card from Studio Calico which I cut up and customised by adding but first coffee! To add the stamping I used two stamps from Kellie Stamps ‘Epic’ set. I love the ‘But first coffee’ stamp but I didn’t feel the typeface of the coffee part of the stamp would work with the other typefaces I had on this particular spread. So I just stamped with the ‘but first’ part of the stamp. Then I did another partial stamp from the ‘coffee, create, sleep, repeat’ stamp also from the ‘Epic’ set to add the coffee part.
Continuing the theme of stopping and relaxing I decided I needed to have a chill out night. So I made myself a big pot of tea, had a biscuit or two and watched the film Persuasion. The photo I had taken was a bit grainy so I changed it to black & white. I added vellum alpha’s to the the two photos - AM for the coffee shot and PM for the tea shot. To the right I cut up some more PL cards to add a little journalling. I also used a Paislee Press journal card and added a circle punched out from another of my watercolour experiments. On top of that I cut down a Color Theory Label from Studio Calico to remind myself to say yes to more of the good stuff in life.
