Happy Friday everyone. I’m very glad it’s the weekend as it’s been a bit of a hectic week. We were away last week and this was the first week back at work so there was lots of catching up to do. Due to that I wasn’t sure about taking part in Ali Edwards ‘day in the life’ but I’m so glad I did as I really enjoyed it and found I took a lot more photos than I thought I would. Above are a (small) selection of some of the photos I took.
There seems to be a theme in my blog reader this week about decluttering and tidying. I’ve heard lots about the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo over the last few months and it’s been mentioned again on three of the blogs I read this week. I’m a bit stuck with some of my decluttering and so I’m thinking maybe it’s time I read it too.
Elise shared her experience of reading the book and how she applied it’s principles in their home.
Courtney from Be More With Less is sharing some tips on decluttering the things that are harder to let go off and mentions the key theme of Marie Kondo’s book - it it doesn’t bring you joy let it go.
Kali from Nife En l’Air also mentions the book in her post about a moderate style of minimalism. She talks about having items and hobbies that might not be considered very minimalist but which bring you joy in your life. Life documenting and scrapbooking can hardly be considered a minimalist hobby but if it brings us joy it deserves a place in our lives.
Have any of you read the book? What did you think of it?
