Spring had really started to kick in at the start of April in the UK and this spread documents some of our spring adventures.
I used a green & purple colour scheme to tie in with the photos and a flyer I included in this spread. This presented some challenges as I have very little purple in my stash and I finally used one of the two PL cards that I think I’ve ever had from Studio Calico!
So I created some DIY patterned paper using some plain card and my Peerless Watercolour paints. I used some behind the instax of our shadows on a bank of violets (my favourite spring flowers) and as a filler in one of the small square pockets. In the other small pockets I used green & purple card from my stash. Plus I used one of the weekday transparencies from a past Studio Calico kit but covered the day with a April sticker from Lisse Street Project Life kit.
The flyer I included was from a craft fair I visited. Another Instagram find and I’m so glad I made the trip into London to for it. It had an impressive selection of stalls and so much talent. I definitely plan to go to the next one this winter. I recommend checking out Renegade Craft as they also hold fairs in various US cities.
I had quite a few photos I wanted to include in this spread so I used some Snap flip pockets to add more space. Under the flyer is a photo from the craft fair and a photo from a friends party. I added a tab from a past Studio Calico kit to make it more obvious the pocket can be lifted up.
On the right hand page I documented our Monday together. We headed out for a walk to look for wood anemones. We also found primroses which are shown in the foot selfie shot, which is another flip pocket and includes more pictures from our walk and I added another tab to the flip pocket plus a stamp from the Lisse Project Life kit. The PL card is made from a Studio Calico PL card cut down and added to some gird paper from my stash.
The large picture at the bottom of the page is from a garden centre we visited later that day. Apparently it’s the local place to go for plants but somehow we’d missed it all these years! I don’t use the word awesome often but I thought it applied here as the greenhouses were laid out with row upon row of beautiful, healthy plants. I used a sticker from Studio Calico and added a strip of vellum underneath to add a bit of extra detail.
