This was another lovely spring week. I hadn’t taken many photos this week other than photos of spring blossom so I made that the focus of this spread!
On the left hand page I included a photo from a cafe near work that I visited in the evening for a change. I quite liked it at night as it changed from serving coffee and sandwiches to tapas and wine! To the left is my only journalling for this week. I used a piece of patterned vellum under a Studio Calico Color Theory label that I cut down and glued onto some grid 6 x 6 grid paper. At the bottom of the page I used one of the cards Ali Edwards designed for the Lisse Street Project Life kit form Studio Calico. Next to that is a photo from a walk through a small but lovely park in London. I’d added stamping direct to the other blossom photo in the spread so I did the same here.
On the right hand page I used one of the cards from the add-on kit Life.Love.Paper designed for Studio Calico. Next to that is a photo I shared on Instagram of my experiments with dip-dying paper with watercolour. The technique is one of the ideas Kelly Purkey’s shares in her Spring Break Mini Workshop. It took quite a lot of dipping but I’m really happy with how they worked out. The photo is on top of some more of the patterned vellum and I added another word sticker from the Lisse Street kit.
The big photo is from a walk out in the countryside on another gorgeous day. The photo needed something extra so I stamped onto it with Versa Magic 'Cloud White' and the Clearly Kelly Outline stamp set. I still felt it needed something so I added in dots, dashes and lines with a Sharpie White Paint pen. I'm not sure it would work on glossy photo paper but I use a matt photo paper and the sharpie dried almost immediately and there was no smudging (I did try it out on a scrap photo first!). Now I know it works so well I'll try and remember to use my white sharpie more often!
