Today I’m sharing some of the project life spreads I made for our trip to St Ives. I hadn’t been sure if I would document the trip in my project life as I was creating my Mini- details album. But that covered what we love about St Ives and didn’t tell the story of what we did on this specific trip. I ended up creating six spreads making this possibly the most documented trip ever!! Rather than share all six I'll share four spreads - two today and two next week.
This first spread (above) covers the first two days of our trip. I used the ‘May’ chipboard from Studio Calico’s Carolina Moon Project Life as a title for the trip. I painted it white with acrylic paint, added some vellum which I'd typed onto and layered it over a map I’d picked up of St Ives. The pockets underneath record our meal out on the first night. On the left is an instax of our coffee and desserts which I stamped with the ‘current little favourites’ from Ali Edwards Little Things Story Stamp set. To the right I attached the restaurants business card to a project life card and added a chipboard piece from my stash.
On the right had page I included a shot of me working on my mini-details album and next to that I used a 4 x 6 card that I’d cut into two and added journalling with my typewriter. I used the ‘today is a brand spanking new day’ card to document that the day started in thick fog but changed completely a few hour later to lovely sunshine. The final pocket is an instax of photo I took on our walk and I stamped it with the ‘we were here’ stamp from the Clearly Kelly New Adventures stamp set. I also added a number geotag chipboard piece. I used these on all my St Ives spreads to document the date after I decided I’d hoarded them too long and should use them!
The second spread documents one of the days we stayed in St Ives instead of travelling off to other parts of Cornwall. The first photo is of some watercolouring I was working on for my mini-details album. I added 'coffee & create' by using part of a stamp from Kellie Stamps Epic set stamped onto a piece of vellum and an ampersand from an alpha sticker set. Next to that I used a card from Studio Calico’s Maker Card set. Under that is a 4x6 card from the May Messy Box from A Beautiful Mess. I added the ‘little moments’ stamp and used the check mark stamp both from Ali Edwards Little Things Story Stamp set and journaled about some of the little moments we’d enjoyed that day.
I had a lot of photos I wanted to include for this day so I cut down a 6x8 page protector to make a 3x8 insert. In the first pocket I added the ‘I love you’ card from the May Messy Box. Under that is a photo I took on the beach which I added a chipboard piece to.
On the flip side of the insert I included a photo from our visit to the Barbara Hepworth Museum of one of my favourite pieces. Under that I made a project life card using a 3x3 card from the Messy Box, added alphas from the Carolina Moon project life kit and then some journalling with my typewriter to record the details of the sculpture.
On the right hand page I included the ‘currently’ card from the Carolina Moon project Life kit as it complemented the colours in another photo from the museum. Finally the 4x6 photo was taken on the beach at low tide when you can walk out and around the pier. I added another number geotag along with a stamp from Kellie Stamps current release ‘But First’ and some alpha stickers.
