One of the things I love about using a 6 x 8 album for my project life is that I can dedicate an entire spread to an event or a few days, which is what I did for these two days at the end of April.
As the colours and images on this spread are quite strong I kept my project life cards and embellishments simple. The first two pockets on the left are from the Friday. The first is a photo I took at a cafe lunchtime as at the point of the day I was somewhere between early bird and night owl! I layered a piece of vellum under the photo before adding it the project life card and then added the 'now' chipboard piece. On the right is a photo of our meal out at Pizza Express. The photo makes my pizza look enormous but its just the angle - honest! To cover up some of the expanse of my pizza I added a strip of white card that I stamped then added a little journalling to. The check list stamp is form Clearly Kelly’s ‘Take Note' set. ‘The Get in my belly’ stamp is from Kellie Stamps new ‘This is my jam’ set.
The rest of the spread documents our brewery trips on the Saturday. The first was a proper brewery trip at Redemption Brewery, where we looked around the brewery, they explained their brewing process and then we got to try their beers. I picked up a bottle label from them which I added to a project life card to document our visit. Later that day we headed to Beavertown Brewery to visit their tap room. I was expecting a small room off the brewery but it turns out Beavertown hold a mini beer festival each Saturday in the summer with food stalls and a beer dispensing fire engine! We only tried two beers from their tap room, as we'd already had a lot of excellent beer by then and you can have too much of a good thing, and we skipped the fire engine this time.
Considering the subject of this spread I had to use the ‘This girl needs a drink’ stamp, also from Kellie Stamps ‘This is my jam’ set as it was prefect! I stamped onto a project life card and added a copper star from Studio Calico’s Carolina Moon project life kit and added some journalling I'd typed onto vellum. Next to that is an image I found in a beer magazine. I thought the style and colour matched the spread so I decided to make it into a project life card. Under that is the photo I took of the beer dispensing fire engine. I printed the photo on my instax printer to give it a bit more interest and added the date by stamping onto a project life card I’d cut up. I used another part of the same project life card with some more stamping on the 4x6 photo I took outside the Beavertown brewery, because it's not every day you find a mini beer festival in the middle of an industrial estate!
