Today I’m sharing a spread from a weekend trip we took in May. On the Sunday we caught a steam train from where we were staying in Alton to the Watercress Festival in Arlesford. I kept our tickets and attached them to a project life card and added the ‘Get Out of Town’ stamp from the new ‘On Fleek’ set from Kellie Stamps along with some journalling. The photo on the right is a selfie I took in the train mirror while we had the carriage to ourselves! I stamped direct onto the photo and added a chipboard piece from the May Messy Box. The 4 x 6 photo is of an old Fullers Mill that we saw on a walk around town. I added a simple label that I stamped with a geotag stamp.
As food was a major part of the trip it seemed right to add a food related insert! I bought the ‘Eat Me’ and neon pink tags on the next day of our trip so wanted to include them in this spread. The neon pink tag is made of two pieces and I stamped the card piece with a selection of food related stamps from the ‘Brunch’ and ‘This is my jam’ sets from Kellie Stamps. The photo is the watercress quiche and watercress salad we had and I added part of a die cut banner which I also stamped. Under the photo I added some journalling on a project life card I’d cut down to fit.
I used my new fuse tool to make the custom pockets in a standard 6 x 8 page protector. I tried a few test runs with the fuse tool on a scrap piece of page protector and once I got the speed right it worked well. I’d heard a few comments that some page protectors worked better than others but I had no problems with it working on the Studio Calico page protectors that I’m currently using. I only used the fuse part of the tool and not the cutting piece. I’m happy sealing things in place so I’m not sure if I’ll use the cutting piece. To trim the pocket down once everything was in place I used a knife and steel rule.
On the back of the insert I continued the food theme. I used an instax of some ice cream and layered it over some paper from a paper pack I bought from Life.Love.Paper and added a pink heart chipboard. I used another cut down project life card with another stamp from the 'Brunch' set underneath. On the reverse side of the ‘Eat Me’ tag I added some strips of typewriting journalling.
The righthand page is from the following day when we visited Winchester. I grew up nearby so it was interesting to go back and see what had changed. I kept this page simple and added an instax of the Cathedral to a project life card and added a strip of typewriting journalling. The next photo was added to another project life card that I added some stamping and journalling too. Below is a photo from the shop where I bought the neon pink and ‘Eat Me’ tags. I used a photo of gorgeous neon notebooks that they had for sale but that I managed to resist and layered it on top of their business card. I added part of another die cut banner and used the ‘On Fleek’ stamp also from the ‘On Fleek’ stamp set. The final photo was taken inside the Grand Hall of the Round Table. I added another strip if typewriting journalling and a puffy sticker from a past Studio Calico kit.
