As promised today I’m sharing my One Little Word pages for the January prompt. You can read more about One Little Word here and you can read about the word I have chosen this year which is ‘Choose’ here.
To document my monthly prompts I will be using the grey OLW 6x8 album that Ali offered this year. I’m so glad that Ali offered a 6x8 album as this size suits me so much better than 8.5x11. Last year I tried a 8.5x11 album for this project and didn’t get on with it at all as all my stash is geared towards Project Life size cards. Also I like 6x8 and I’m used to working with it so I think this will help me be more successful with completing the full 12 prompts this year.
So onto to my pages. I was tempted by the dividers Ali offered but I'm having to choose wisely what I buy this year so I had to pass and made my own version instead. I decided to make a patterned paper by looking up the definition of choose online and copying and pasting the text into Photoshop. There I repeated the block text until it covered a full 6x8 page. Over the top I layered the One Little Word logo that Ali included in the class content over a white box. I then added pale mint alpha stickers once I’d printed the page. And to finish the page I added a grey monthly tab sticker.
On the first double page spread I repeated the definition patterned paper on the back of the title page. On the right hand page I created two prompt cards using the digital stamps included in the class. I created a filler card using a digital card from Studio Calico and added a wooden embellishment from the customised embellishment kit I bought from Colorcast Designs. I also included a selfie, as Ali encouraged us all to do, and added a kraft word strip from the Cheer Story kit and an aqua star.
On the second double page spread I used some patterned vellum in the first pocket. In the next pocket I created a filler card with a digital card from Studio Calico, a cork heart from the Old & new Story kit and another kraft word strip.
The bottom left pocket is my take on the quote prompt. As mentioned in my first OLW post I bought the pocket talisman as something that I can carry with me everyday. The talisman reads ‘Each day I choose’. I decided I wanted a quote that tied in with these words so I looked for a quote on Pinterest and then reworded it to fit in with the words on my talisman. The final pocket on the left is another prompt card using the digital class stamps. Then on the right hand page is my journaling for the ‘year ahead’ and intentions’ prompts.
Supplies: digital stamps included in the One Little Word Class, Grey OLW Album (the grey version is longer available but the gold version is), Arendal Printable Journal Cards from Studio Calico, The Little Words embellishment kit from Colorcast Designs.
