Today I’m sharing days 25-27 of my December Daily. You can read more about my approach to this project and the supplies I’ll be using in this previous post.
I created two spreads for the 25th. This first one documents our Christmas morning. On the left page I used the numbered card for the day from the Ashley G kit. Next I used some of the green paper from the Jasmine Jones kit and a gift tag from one of my presents, which is just loose in the pocket so it can be pulled out to read the message. The bottom two pockets document our tradition of eating a chocolate or two with breakfast!
On the right hand page I made a 6x8 page and made a grid of the different wrapping papers from our presents. I started with a 4x6 digital card from Studio Calico and then copy and pasted part of the card to make it into a 6x8 page. I then used a piece of scrap card to make a template of the size I needed to fill the grid spaces, then used it to cut out pieces of wrapping paper. To finish the page off I added some number stickers and then used a acrylic and wooden embellishment from Colorcast Designs.
The second spread for Christmas Day focuses on making and eating Christmas lunch. I used the gold foiled '25' 6x8 paper from Jasmine Jones kit on the left hand page. On the right I used a selfie of us in our aprons ready to cook. The ‘Seasoned Greetings’ card is a Christmas Card from Paperchase which I cut down to 3x4. For the journaling card I used the same idea as a previous card on day 4 using two of the digital stamps from the December Daily class kit plus a wooden ampersand embellishment, but this time I embossed the ampersand. The final photo is of us clinking glasses before tucking into our food. To embellish the photo I stamped a wooden banner with a stamp from the Cheer Story Kit and added two sparkly enamel dots.
For the 26th I kept things simple with the numbered card, two photos from our day and a journal card about winter this year. On both photos I added simple embellishments made by stamping onto some kraft card.
Day 27 was about our trip to Devon to see my family and I used a 3x8 page protector to make an insert to give me some more space for the day. On the front of the insert I used the numbered card for the day plus a photo of us stuck in traffic along with a gold and kraft sticker that I stamped with road trip. On the reverse of the insert is the journaling for the day. I used a digital stamp from December Daily class set and added a gold acrylic star from my stash.
My family aren’t keen on having their photos taken so I have no photos of them from the day! So I used a photo of Andy sat in my Grandparent’s dining room. I also took a photo of a photo of my Grandad and one of their dogs. I was trying to take it so I had a copy but the lighting was bad and I kept getting reflections. However I love how this photo turned out as I have my husband’s hands holding the photo of my Grandad with my Grandmother’s linen table cloth in the background, so for me this photo holds quite a lot of meaning. To embellish the photo I used one of the kraft strips from the Cheer kit and a gold chipboard heart. The filler card at the top is a gold foiled card along with one of the acetate pieces from the Jasmine Jones kit.
