Today I’m sharing the title page for my 2016 and a few details about my Project Life plans for this year.
First of all, and probably given away but the photo above, I’m changing the size of album I’ll be using. I love 6x8 but I sometimes found myself last year wishing I had a little more room so I decided to size up to 6x12.
I'll be sticking with a hybrid approach as I like the flexibility it gives me and will continue mostly using digital journal cards and a mix of digital/physical embellishments. I’ll also continue to print my journal cards and photos at home as this is still the best option for me. Although I’d like to try some full 6x12 photos and those I will need to send off for printing.
As I did last year I won’t set any rules about what periods of time I document. I sometimes complete weekly spreads, but I’m just as likely to create a spread that covers a few days or an event. What I might change this year is the order I document and I may not follow a chronological order. I’m still thinking that through but I would like to have as much flexibility as I can this year. I may also include spreads that focus on a specific story inspired by the story kits and these stories might be recent or they could be older stories from a few years back.
So onto my title page for my album. I think this is the first time in 4 years that I have completed a title page at the start of the year and not left it until the end! In the past I’ve wanted to wait and decide on the title page once the album was completed. I’ve just taken that approach with my title pages for 2015 and I do like including photos from the album on the title page. But I’m also happy with how this title page turned out.
The top 4x6 card I created in photoshop and uses one of Ali Edwards Twenty Sixteen digital stamps. I coloured the background to match another card on the page and added a few enamel dots and a chipboard piece after it was printed.
The middle two 3x4 cards are both digital cards from Studio Calico. The first I changed by adding a digital stamp from Ali’s Heart Story Kit. I removed one of the lines in the heart to make more space and added ‘choose’ which is a digital stamp from Paislee Press. The second card I recoloured and then added a chipboard element.
The final pocket is a selfie taken of us just before the New Year. I changed the photo to black and white and once printed I added a digital chipboard piece from the Sparks Story Kit and layered over another piece of paper.
Supplies: Twenty Sixteen Digital Word Art, Heart and Sparks Story Kits from Ail Edwards, Digital Journal Cards from Brimfield & Arendal kits from Studio Calico, Mantras photo templates and wordart stamps by Paislee Press.
