Autumn is my favourite season and I was itching for it to start this year. I think all the new season clothes in the shops and talk about December Daily had me jumping ahead of myself! But at the end of August it was still pretty hot here, although autumnal colours were starting to come through, and with a few days off together we spent a lot of our time outside enjoying the weather.
To documents our days out I used the 'Hello Seasons' digital stamp set Ali Edwards released in September along with more bits and pieces from Studio Calico’s 'Lost River' Digital Documenter kit.
I created the ‘out with summer, in with fall’ card from a New Years digital kit I picked up from Studio Calico at the end of last year and added the summer and fall stamps from the 'Hello Seasons' stamp set.
For my journaling on this spread I used a cursive typewriter font. I saw Tina Aszmus using a cursive typewriter font in her recent Details Class at Studio Calico and really liked the look of it. I think she has a real life typewriter which types in cursive, which wasn’t an option for me. So I did some googling I found this digital version for free - Canon Typestar 210.
'The story of this season' is another journaling card I created by combining a digital card from my stash with digital stamps from the 'Hello Season' stamp set. I’m also trying to use more of my stash and added a small word sticker and wooden star to my photo.
I’ll be honest and say that I wasn't sure I’d use the laurel wreath style embellishments that had come with the Wild Story kit. But there were perfect for this spread and I used them to frame this ‘love this place’ card from the Lost River kit.
