In the UK we have Bonfire Night on the 5th November and there are firework displays held across the country. We’ve not been to a display for a few years as Andy’s been working but we were both off this year so we we went to a local display and I made sure to take photos to include in my Project Life album. Unfortunately I had technical problems with my big camera (i.e. I couldn’t get the settings right to get a good photo) so I had to go with photos from my phone instead!
I already had a plan to use a card from Studio Calico’s 'Story Board' kit, as to me it looks like fireworks, and I wanted to use the ‘looking up’ silver messy circle that came in the ‘Up’ Story Kit. And from there I went with the blues, purples and pinks that were coming through in my photos.
This week was also Halloween and I created this black journal card to document me re-reading the Harry Potter series. I used the Jolly Holly Magic stamps to add the cauldron and sparkles. The card started out as white with black text and stamp, but I changed it to white on black as I preferred the look and it balanced out the spread better.
I really liked the small messy circles that came in the Up Story kit and I thought the ‘looking up’ circle was perfect for the fire work display.
I used a filler card from the Story Board kit and used the text from another card in the kit to add ‘yes, weekend’ then added a star from a past Story Kit. I also used the blue & gold word strips from the 'Story Board' kit to embelish a few of my photos.
