Today I’m excited to share the first of two project life spreads that I created for the Ali Edwards Digital Creative Team using the ‘Messy Love Circles’ and ‘Encouragement Journal Cards’.
The spread covers a weekend in London with Andy’s friends from his University friends. We had a fun two days showing them around London with lots catching up and good food.
To give myself some more space I added an insert, to effectively give me a 9x12 page for each page. I made the insert by cutting down a page protector and using my fuse tool to create a 3x12 insert.
Starting on the left hand page I recoloured a digital card from Studio Calico. I added the London text by using vellum alphas. Next I used a photo I took of the market we visited and in the first pocket of the insert I used a digital card to add some journaling.
In the middle pockets I used a 4x6 photo that I cut in half to fit in the the two 3x4 pockets and used a label and stamp to add ‘In my cup’ and used a mini attacher to attach it. And in the middle insert pocket I used a filler card from Studio Calico.
In the bottom pocket I used a photo of myself and added some journaling about our afternoon. To add a little embellishment to the card I added a piece of washi tape from my stash. And on the photo of Andy & I clinking glasses I used the ‘you + me Love’ messy circle digital stamp.
On the second page, in the top pocket of the insert, I created a journaling card using a digital stamp from the Cheer Story Kit and journaled about our Saturday evening. In the 4x6 pocket I included a photo of the group and stamped 'cheers to us' onto a wood veneer banner. I’m really happy with how the stamping on the wood veneer turned out. I’ve used Staz-On in the past but it always had a slightly feathery lines around the stamping. This time I used one of the chalky stamps I use for my planner and I got a much clearer stamped image.
In the middle pocket of the insert I used a digital card and added some more journaling. Next was a photo taken at the coffee shop where we had breakfast. In the final middle pocket I used one of the encouragement journal cards.
In the bottom pocket of the insert I used another digital card and added some more journaling, and added a wooden arrow embellishment. The final 4x6 pocket is a photo embellished with one of the messy circle stamps.
