Today I’m sharing my One Little Word album pages for the February Prompt. The prompt was to aim to practice something every day in February. I decided that I was going to make my practice focusing more on the good things in life and less on the bad things. I thought February was likely going to be a tough month (which it was) but I also knew that if I focused on the bad things it would make things seem even more difficult. I can’t say that everyday was a success, but on the whole I feel I did focus more on the good things, and that made it easier to deal with the more difficult parts of the month.
So onto to my pages. As mentioned in my last One Little Word post I am making my own monthly dividers. To create this months divider I recoloured some digital patterned paper and had and then added a quote card that I downloaded for free from Elise Blaha Cripe's website. The quote was perfect as it includes my word, Choose, but also summed up what I was trying to achieve this month.
For my main pages I wanted to include the practice card that was part of the class download and photos of positive things from the month. On the left page I used a 6x8 template from Paislee Press with a mixture of photos and patterned filler cards. To include my word I used another patterned filler card and combined it with the ‘Choose’ word art from Paislee Press.
On the right hand page I recoloured the 'Practice | February' card, which was another of the class downloads, to match the rest of the spread. The ‘In Progress’ card was made by copying and pasting the text from a chipboard piece in the Craft Story Kit and the journaling relates to the photos on the left hand page.
Underneath I used the 4x6 Practice card that was designed for each circle to be ticked off for the days you completed your practice. I hadn't kept a record of whether I had succeeded in my practice everyday, but as mentioned above I’d felt overall the month had been a success. So I decided not to get too hung up about filling in the card and decided to fill in all the days as complete. And on the reverse of this page I’l be including some private journaling about how I felt the practice went during the month.
