Today Im sharing a spread that I created for my Build Album. My Build album is an album I’m keeping to document the story of us buying and doing up our new home - you can read more about it here. I’ve neglected the album for a while and have quite a lot of different things I need to document in it but life has been super busy and I’ve been letting the dust settle after a stressful start to the year.
This spread documents a week we spent decorating. We had to hit the decorating pretty hard as we had a tight deadline to meet which was a new carpet being laid. I kept the spread super simple and used the ‘This Is/Was Days to the Week’ templates that Ali Edwards released back in May for Week in the Life. I think the templates were designed to lay directly over a 4x6 photo but my photos were all quite busy so I decided to keep the text over a white background. To add my photos I added boxes in photoshop to create clipping masks and they are either full size 2x6 photos or two 2x3 photos side by side. But where I used two photos I added a little border between the photos to make them stand out a little more. Some of the colours also clashed a bit so I changed some photos to black & white. Then I used the roller stamp that came with Ali’s Day in the Life kit to add the dates.
I used the 3x4 pockets to add my journaling and filler cards. I printed out the journaling making sure I left enough room to add two of the badges that came with the Tough Story kit and the two filler cards are from the Build kit.
Supplies: This is/Was Days of the Week Digital Templates, badges from the Tough Story Kit and filler cards from the Digital version of the Build Story Kit, all from Ai Edwards.
