I’d hoped to have finished sharing my December Daily pages by now, but with the Christmas holidays life just got too busy and I focused on finishing the album instead. So today I’m sharing days 11-18 and hopefully I’ll share the final pages later this week.
On day 11 we spent another day in Norwich visiting a local museum decorated for Christmas, which was very atmospheric and also to see the light shows. I had quite a few photos from the day so I created two spreads. The first is just two 4x6 photos and a tag from my stash with the chipboard number for the day.
On the second spread I used two more photos and added my journaling for the day. The chipboard ‘sparkle’ is something I’ve been hoarding for awhile now and I always planned to use it in a DD album. It was pink to start with so I changed it to silver with embossing powder.
On day 12 we visited a local Abbey that was holding a Christmas Tree festival. To tie in with that I used the digital version of one of the kraft tags that came in Ali’s main kit to create a journaling card. I then used two word strips to embellish the 4x6 photo and added my number for the day by sticking number stickers over the top of a chipboard star piece.
Day 13 & 14 were quieter so I created one spread for both. I kept it simple with two photos and journaling for both days, and then added the numbers for both days in the same pocket, over some patterned paper from the main kit.
Day’s 15 & 16 stories were about boxes - a box of chocolates we’d been given and a prettily wrapped box for my Mum, so it made sense to take a photo of them together. I then added labels to the side of the photo and used more number stickers.
Over the years I’ve sort of created a tradition of recording the short days we have in December. This year day 17 captured this story. It was foggy all day and it was quite atmospheric walking home in the dusk with the lights glowing in the mist. To embellish this spread I used a glitter chipboard star and added a word strip on top. And on the 4x6 photo I used some plastic numbers I had in my stash, a piece of word strip and an enamel star.
Day 18 was all about me catching up on my December Daily album. I didn’t think the spread needed any journaling so I used a 4x6 photo of my desk and a 3x4 of me embossing numbers. I added the number 18 over some patterned paper I created by repeat stamping ‘Makers gotta make’ stamp from Kelly Purkey’s Arts & Craft planner stamp set.
